Chateau Talbot, Bordeaux White "Caillou Blanc de Talbot" 2020 - OWC of 12 Bottles x 75cl

83 % Sauvignon Blanc, 17 % Sémillon.

Georges Cordier, the grandfather of the current owners was one of the first to replant white wine in Médoc in the 1930’s. With a majority of Sauvignon, and a hint of Sémillon, Caillou Blanc is raised on its lees and stirred in a Burgundy manner. The wine is very aromatic, with a lively personality and responsiveness one finds again and again through all the vintages.

5,2 hectares vineyard. Medoc’s gravelly soil. 7 700 plants/ha. 45 years old average. 35 hl/ha. Manual harvests. Ageing in oak barrels (33 % new) on lees, with stirring for 8 months.
