Château Haut-Lagrange is a family-owned winery created in 1989 by Francis Boutemy at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. His passion for wine was transmitted to him by his grandparents, former owners of a Cru Classé in Léognan. Ghislain Boutemy, son of Francis, now manages the vineyard and winemaking.
Château Haut-Lagrange is located in Léognan, in the prestigious communal appellation of Graves Pessac-Léognan. Vine was already cultivated in the 18th century at the current location of the estate and this production was cited as one of the most remarkable in the region.
During the vineyard's planting, Francis Boutemy optimized the perfect knowledge of this terroir of gravels that he has seen elvolved over the decades. The grape varieties are typical from Pessac-Léognan appellation: Sauvignon and Sémillon for the white ; Cabernet-sauvignon and Merlot for the red.
