Francois Chidaine, Touraine Red 2020
33% Cabernet Franc, 33% Cot (aka Malbec), 33% Pinot d'Aunis from vines located just north of the Cher river near the villages of Montrichard & Chissay-en Touraine on clay soils with flint.
Manual harvest, organic and biodynamic farming, indigenous yeast fermentation in stainless steel vats at low temperature.
Known primarily for making some of the greatest white wines in Montlouis sur Loire and Vouvray region, Francois Chidaine has been farming these vineyards for several years.
This gourmet red wine with a deep ruby color is really easy to drink. The nose is charming with its notes of red fruits like cherry or raspberry. The mouth is round, supple, fruity and well balanced. The finish with delicately spicy notes of white pepper recalls the presence of Pineau d'Aunis. To be enjoyed now with fine cold cuts, savory pies or grilled meats.
