Joseph Pascal, Chassagne Montrachet 2019
Joseph Pascal, Chassagne Montrachet 2019
100% Chardonnay. 32 years old vines on clay limestone.
The alcoholic and malo-lactic fermentations take place in 228L French oak barrels, the wine is then aged on fine lees 11 months, and after racking, it is aged again 4-5 months in tanks before bottling.
Open, complex yet demonstrative notes of white flowers, white fruits, with a distinct mineral flint edge. Fine and elegant structure, very precise and pure, this white wine is nicely poised with apple and kiwi fruit surfacing towards the satisfying mineral finish.
All started in the early 20th century, when Joseph Pascal came from the town of Puligny-Montrachet to cultivate the land. Today the Domain covers 15 hectares of vineyards spread over 4 towns (Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Auxey-Duresses).
