GRAPE VARIETY : Pinot noir.

SOIL : Mix of clay and limestone.

TASTING: Nice ruby color with purple nuances. Intense aromas of ripe red berries mixed with spices and liquorice. Complex with a deep texture and soft tannins, long and elegant aftertaste.

The house’s eponymous founder, Evgueni Louis Max, hailed from Georgia, which many believe is the birthplace of winemaking. He inherited his passion from his father, a wine merchant who had been a soldier in Tsar Alexander I’s army.

In 1859, the young exile established his Maison in Beaune, the heart of Burgundy. Today, its domain spans Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, and Chablis.

After 160 years, Louis Père & Fils continues to blend innovation and tradition to produce extraordinary wines from 3 of the world’s most illustrious terroirs. A sustainable cultivation of the vines, a control of the yields, a manual harvest, a harvest and a sorting of the grapes at full maturity.
