Tenuta di Valgiano, Toscana Palistorti Bianco 2007
Vermentino 50%, Trebbiano 16%, Malvasia 16%, Grechetto 16%.
10% of the Vermentino is fermented in barriques and the remainder in stainless steel at 10°C to preserve the intense and fruity aroma with a hint of pink grapefruit and lychees. It is pleasantly fresh on the palate and the acidity is balanced by considerable body. A warm but harmonious wine with ample aftertaste. A structured white in Mediterranean style, but with aromatic dignity and exceptional quality.
Tenuta di Valgiano is perched on the hills of the “Lucchesia”, squeezed between the Apennine mountain range and the Tyrrhenian coast. Purchased in 1992 by Moreno Petrini, a local, and Laura di Collobiano, from Piemonte. Here, she met Moreno and together they started managing the vineyard with the help of Saverio Petrilli who quit the winery in Chianti he was consulting, for a new, more challenging terroir. They have a very natural, organic and biodynamic farming, low intervention approach to winemaking.
